Up to €2,400 with a battery.
Solar PV support is capped at €1,800. An eligible battery of at least 5kWh adds €600.
The home must have an MPRN, have been built and occupied before 2025 and meet the previous-funding conditions.
SOLAR PV & BATTERY STORAGE · COFAB ELECTRICAL
Solar panels and battery storage for homes, farms and businesses across South East Ireland. Designed around your property, consumption and priorities.
START WITH THE PROPERTY
Roof space, orientation, shading and when you use electricity all influence the right solar design. We review these together, rather than treating every property as the same installation.
We can discuss rooftop or ground-mounted panels, inverter options, battery storage and how your system could work alongside EV charging or hot-water diversion.
Equipment options can include AlphaESS, Solis and Dyness, depending on suitability and availability. Your quotation sets out the proposed equipment and scope.

YOUR OPTIONS
Roof and ground-mounted systems, with panel layouts and inverter sizing considered alongside your electrical supply and site conditions.
Store available electricity for later use. We assess capacity, compatibility, available space and how you expect to operate the system.
Consider EV charging, hot-water diversion, monitoring and suitable tariff settings as part of the wider design.
FROM DESIGN TO HANDOVER
Grid connection requirements, export limits, access works and any enabling electrical upgrades are assessed for the individual project.
Start with your Eircode and an idea of your electricity use. Tell us if you have a heat pump, an EV or plans to add either.
You do not need to know your panel count or battery size before contacting us.

Current guidance checked 26 October 2026. Confirm your eligibility and grant offer directly with SEAI.
Solar PV support is capped at €1,800. An eligible battery of at least 5kWh adds €600.
The home must have an MPRN, have been built and occupied before 2025 and meet the previous-funding conditions.
Eligible owner-occupiers receiving a qualifying welfare payment may receive up to €8,400 for solar PV plus €600 for an eligible battery.
The qualifying payment must be received by the homeowner. Ask SEAI to confirm the payment, property and previous-funding requirements.
For eligible owner-occupiers on qualifying payments, with a home built before 2006 and suitable for improvements.
SEAI surveys the property and appoints the contractor; applicants cannot select COFAB through this route. Solar and battery provision depends on the scheme assessment and suitability.
For individual solar grants, choose an SEAI-registered company and receive approval before proceeding. The application guide also excludes works where materials have already been purchased. Complete works and required paperwork within eight months of approval.

Grant-supported solar requires the relevant registered company and installer, scheme documentation, a Declaration of Works and the required post-installation BER. We explain the installation and paperwork responsibilities in your proposal.
SEAI registration does not mean SEAI guarantees the company or its work.
SEAI company register →Safe Electric’s Registered Electrical Contractor scheme covers electrical safety and certification. Completion Certificates are required for electrical works other than minor works; minor works must be certified if the customer requests it.
Our handover covers the relevant testing, commissioning and completion documentation for the agreed solar, EV or electrical works.
Safe Electric completion certificates →COMMON QUESTIONS
A south-facing roof is not the only option. East- and west-facing arrays may also be suitable. Orientation, shading, available space and your consumption pattern need to be assessed together.
Battery storage alone does not guarantee backup power. Backup requires suitable equipment and a specifically designed arrangement. We explain the available circuits, power limits and operation where backup is included.
Possibly. We first check the existing inverter, installation, available space and the proposed battery’s compatibility. An inspection is needed before recommending an upgrade.
Savings depend on generation, consumption, tariffs and how the system is used. We discuss project-specific estimates and assumptions with you. We do not promise a fixed saving for every home.
Confirm current eligibility, application requirements and approval timing directly with SEAI before proceeding. We can discuss the installation information relevant to your proposal. Check SEAI’s official grants information →
